Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of Indonesian linguistics and culture in building cross-cultural understanding as a foundation for a more inclusive and harmonious future generation. This study analyzes how local cultural values can be integrated into the formal education system to increase tolerance, empathy, and openness, as well as strengthen national identity. With a qualitative descriptive approach, this study utilizes secondary data from literature studies, education policies, and empirical cases in various regions of Indonesia. The results of the study show that local culture-based education not only preserves cultural heritage but also forms a young generation who has the potential to be agents of change in promoting diversity. Implementation strategies, practical challenges, and policy recommendations that support the preservation of local culture were also identified as important steps in expanding the application of this model. The relevance of the results of this study is not only applicable in the context of Indonesia but also has the potential to be applied in other countries with similar cultural diversity. These findings make a theoretical contribution to the study of cultural linguistics and practical implications for creating a harmonious and inclusive global society
